Black Walnuts

If only I had endless energy and time, I could do a lot with all the black walnuts around here.
Here are just a few that the kids picked up.

In addition to being the cause of a potential hospital trip for a broken ankle (have you ever tried walking on ground covered by fallen black walnuts?), black walnuts have incredible health benefits.  The black walnut hull is most commonly used for ridding parasites from humans and animals and has also been used for ringworm, fungal infections, mouth sores and herpes, warts, poison ivy, eczema, blood conditions and other skin conditions.
We were thinking about making a tincture with green black walnut hulls — there are still lots to pick up.
