Inspiring Daughters

In a culture that has blurred the lines of our role distinctiveness, we as Christians seek to hold fast and strong to the Biblical blueprints laid out for us in Scripture. It is only within those parameters that we find true fulfillment. The world focuses on self-fulfillment and “what makes me happy”, however, life isn’t about self, it’s about glorifying God. We live a sacrificial life serving and bringing glory to Him alone.
Our home education and child training should completely encompass who God made our children to be. Our daughters are distinctively different and unique, having the glorious duties and responsibilities to serve their families with many giftings unique to women.
Even in the home schooling movement, gender neutral education is common. However, as Christians leading a cultural reformation, neutrality in education should have no place in our homes. Home education provides us with the incredible opportunity to powerfully impact our culture though Biblically equipping our children to boldly live a life of faith in Christ that isn’t based on gender neutrality and the lie of feminism.
The home is the fertile ground from which the foundational training of our girls takes place. Within these walls, we are seeing the vital renewal of family life as God meant it to be. As more Christians seek to fulfill the commandments found in Scripture regarding the training and education of our children, the family is being reformed into an unstoppable force in Christian cultural reformation.
We are counter-cultural. We actively guard our daughters’ hearts from the indoctrination of the lies of feminism that so pervades our culture and by God’s grace, they will be a powerful testimony to the world of beautiful Godly girlhood. We guard their hearts very closely and prayerfully fill them with the abundance and richness of the incredibly important role God has chosen them for.
We are not alone. We have been pleased to cross paths with many other families who have declared war on this pagan culture by drawing a line in the sand and raising high the banner of Christ’s Crown and Covenant.
Because we are called to be salt and light in the culture in which we live, we believe in advancing the Kingdom through building culture that is Christ honoring. The Botkin family has been very encouraging to our family in this endeavor. We are excited about a new film, The Return of the Daughters, soon to be released from the Botkin sisters, Anna and Elizabeth, in which the Biblical roles of daughters are being gloriously celebrated and defended. “The Return of The Daughters” and will be released later this fall.
The Botkins have updated their blog with a short clip about the film that features an excerpt that was left on the cutting room floor from Voddie Bauchum on why his daughters won’t be attending college.
Cooking Sacred Cows with Dr. Voddie Baucham (Mr. Baucham also won my husband’s favorite message of 2006 award and if you haven’t heard that message–you must!)
I am very excited about seeing this new work from the Botkin sisters. If you haven’t seen their book, So Much More, yet, we highly recommend it as well.

I am really looking forward to this film. We wholeheartedly agree with everything you have said in this post. Unfortunately, we are on dial-up at this time and listening to anything on line or watching a video for that matter….well….it’s just not possible. lol. Maybe in the future we will get to hear Mr. Baucham’s message.
